【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthedegreeofaerobicaquaticbiodegradationoffullyformulatedlubricantsortheircomponentsonexposuretoaninoculumundercontrolledlaboratoryconditions.Thistestmethodisanultimatebiodegradationtestthatmeasurescarbondioxide(CO2)evolution.Thistestmethodisintendedtospecificallyaddressthedifficultiesassociatedwithtestingwaterinsolublematerialsandcomplexmixturessuchasarefoundinmanylubricants.Thistestmethodisdesignedtobeapplicabletoallnon-volatilelubricantsorlubricantcomponentsthatarenottoxicandnotinhibitoryatthetestconcentrationtotheorganismspresentintheinoculum.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardsarediscussedinSection.
